Isolation, 2019

Mixed Media painting on canvas in a black frame 76cm x 51cm

In this painting the artist, Tamsanqa Mnkani reflects on the complete social isolation he experienced whilst homeless between society and himself. He was very lonely and had a very unpleasant emotional response to this isolation, he missed connection and communication, especially from his friends, who had rejected him because he was a bad influence on them. Even when Tamsanqa was surrounded by other people or acquaintances or friends from the streets he always felt loneliness because he wasn’t communicating his thoughts. His mind was constantly on his crime and that is why he chose to be isolated most of the time
