Blues Ceramics

Blues Ceramics is Mafuzandile Solombela.  He was born in Butterworth in the Eastern Cape and as a young child of 6-10 years old used to love playing with the clay at the local river, sculpting cows, cars and other shapes.

In school he loved art, especially ceramics and decided to follow his dream of specializing in this field by attending Walter Sisulu University where he studied fine arts and ceramics under John Steele where he won various awards for his ceramics works.

On leaving WSU he went to the Gompo Arts Centre and was mentored by Sikho Mququ and ever since has been working as a self employed ceramicist sharing the pottery studio there.
